Govt. Girls' PG College, Ujjain
Education is empowerment and to educate a woman is to educate a generation. With this inherent futuristic vision Govt. Girls’ PG College came into existence in the year 1958 in Ujjain. Besides its religious importance, Ujjain city has been a Centre for creation and transfer of knowledge since known history. Lord Krishna was educated here at Maharishi Sandipani Ashram. It has been an important place for the followers of Buddhism. The legendary King Vikramaditya ruled here with his Scholars “Navratnas”. With the establishment of its affiliating Vikram University, Ujjain in 1957, Govt. Girls’ PG College, Ujjain came up a year later and enlightened with the glorious past of Ujjain created a proud legacy of more than sixty years.
By focusing on the modes of inquiry which strengthen thinking skills and extensive field experiences to bring together theory and practice, the college carved for itself a niche as a provider of quality and value based education in UG and PG multi-faculty Programmes and was accorded the status of a Centre for Excellence by the Govt. of Madhya Pradesh.
